Hamilton catches Goodwood Festival of Speed bug

Last season Lewis Hamilton made his first public foray on British soil as a fully-fledged Formula One star at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and now Hamilton has confirmed he will again be in attendence at this year's event in July.
The British driver’s presence is especially appropriate as the theme for the 2008 Festival has already been announced as ‘Hawthorn to Hamilton - Britain’s love affair with World Motor Sport’. And, like last year, the 23 year-old is expected to race up the famous hill in a McLaren.
As well as recognising Hamilton's recent achievements, the event's programme will also celebrate the contributions of iconic British motorsport figures including Mike Hawthorne, Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Jackie Stewart, Derek Bell, Colin Chapman and Adrian Newey, and mark the 50th anniversaries of Cosworth, Lola and the British Touring Car Championship.
“It will be just fantastic to have so many great cars and drivers here at Goodwood to celebrate our theme for 2008,” commented Goodwood Festival of Speed founder, Lord March. “I look forward with much anticipation to seeing some of the great British drivers and British-inspired machines in action.”
Other Formula One teams expected to attend the event, which will take place from 11-13 July, include Ferrari, BMW Sauber, Williams, Red Bull, Honda and Toyota.
