Toro Rosso have given their new 2008 car, the STR03, its first public outing at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya. After completing a brief shakedown run late on Tuesday, team driver Sebastian Bourdais has been in action throughout Wednesday morning at the Spanish circuit.

The new car made a private track debut earlier this month at the Vairano circuit in Italy. Formula Three racer Brendon Hartley was given the honour of driving the STR03 during the intensive three-day preliminary session, so Bourdais is the first Toro Rosso race driver to experience his new charge.

Although Toro Rosso plan to continue using their older interim car at the forthcoming Spanish Grand Prix, they have scheduled the STR3's race debut for next month's Turkish round.
