Rain and hail hit Ferrari test

Ferrari made little progress in Italy on Wednesday after poor weather conditions disrupted their second day of testing at the Vallelunga circuit, north of Rome. As a result, the team will now extend their planned three-day session into Friday.

Wintry showers meant Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen only managed to complete a total of 51 laps. Massa put in 31 of those in the new F2007, with a fastest time of 1m 18.767s, while Raikkonen covered 20 in last year’s 248 F1, with a best of 1m 22.299s.

Ironically, Ferrari had moved this week’s test to Vallelunga after forecasts had predicted poor weather for their intended venue of Mugello.
