Midland, Rosberg gear up for Rotterdam run
|
Following Robert Doorboss blast along the De Afsluitdijk dam earlier on Tuesday, Dutch motorsport fans will get another chance to witness Formula One cars in action this weekend when three drivers from the 2006 grid participate in Rotterdams Bavaria City Racing event.
Midlands Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro, along with Williams Nico Rosberg, are all due to carry out demonstration runs as part of Sundays showcase, which draws together drivers and machinery from a wide range of race series.
"I'm very excited to be performing in front of my home fans for the second year in a row, said Albers, who drove a Minardi in the inaugural 2005 event, which drew more than 300,000 spectators.
As I told everyone on the team, last year was really amazing, so I'm looking forward to showing them the kind of enthusiasm the Dutch people have for motorsport. I encourage everyone who can to come out and see the show - it will be 'maximum attack' all the way!"
Other attractions will include a parade of historic Grand Prix cars dating back as far as 1920 and, in the VIP area, a performance by ex-Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan and his band, V10.
