Villeneuve wraps up Sauber test
|
Sauber completed their three-day session at Fiorano in Italy on Thursday, with Jacques Villeneuve taking over from team mate Felipe Massa at the wheel of the C24.
Villeneuve covered 163 laps, bringing the Swiss squads total for the week to just over 400. His best time was a 58.647s, less then a tenth of a second slower than Massa went on Wednesday.
"Thanks to great weather conditions all three days we were basically able to finish with our scheduled test programme already yesterday, explained race engineer Mike Krack. This allowed Jacques to concentrate on in-depth set-up work for most of the day today. In addition to this, he validated some cooling options for the new rear and compared different rims. Overall we can say that we are pleased with the outcome of this test."
Saubers next scheduled test is at Paul Ricard in France from May 11 to 13.
