Massa begins V8 Ferrari test
|
Felipe Massa was back behind the wheel of a Ferrari on Wednesday in his first test for the team since being officially announced as Michael Schumachers 2006 team mate.
Massa was in action at Italys Vallelunga circuit, driving an F2004 - a car he helped develop during his time as an official Ferrari tester back in 2003. The difference this time is that it is powered by an early version of the V8 engine the team will run next season.
The Brazilian ran on a new version of the Roman track, putting in a total of 46 laps of development work and clocking a best time of 1m 14.366s. He continues at the circuit on Thursday.
Ferrari are expected to be the only team testing in the coming weeks. The first pre-2006, multi-team session is scheduled for the week commencing November 28, at Barcelonas Circuit de Catalunya.
