The Sauber team will officially launch their new car, the C23, on January 12 2004, it was announced on Tuesday. The Petronas-powered machine will be unveiled in team sponsor Red Bull's Hangar-7 facility in Salzburg, Austria.

The C23 is the car Sauber hope will propel their new driver line-up of Giancarlo Fisichella and Felipe Massa to success next season, following the Swiss team's sixth-placed finish in the 2003 constructors' championship.

Sauber are expected to resume testing at Barcelona next week, with a further session scheduled for the start of December at Jerez. However, it is not known when the C23 will make its first on-track appearance.
