A night on the town with Midland
|
A stretch limousine is not a common site in Montreal. Last night the traffic stopped when two of them pulled up outside the citys coolest nightspot, former bank, now designer hotel and bar, The W.
From the cars stepped Midland boss and Jordan team owner Alex Shnaider, Canadas youngest and most prominent billionaire, along with three of North Americas top ice-hockey stars, Mario Lemieux, Vincent Lecavalier and Tie Domi. It was obviously party time - Midland party time to be precise.
All guests were greeted at the venues entrance by a gorgeous young beauty, who would only lift her lollipop once the appropriate invitation was presented. Once inside, 20 more stunning girls in Jordan attire were on hand to look after the guests and supply them with drinks and the fanciest of finger food. The Martinis - shaken, not stirred - came with orchids in the glass.
The media representatives present were, unsurprisingly, more than happy to mix with the more prominent party goers and even got to see two well known spray-paint artists started to work on life-size photos of Narain Karthikeyan and Tiago Monteiro, turning the Jordan drivers into instant works of art. It was one of those evenings that perfectly illustrated why Formula One racing is so often labelled a lifestyle event - sporty by day, party by night.
